Why I Built My Business Far Away From Big Cities
When people think about digital entrepreneurship, they often imagine skyscrapers, busy co-working spaces, and big tech hubs.
For a long time, I thought the same.
I believed that to build something meaningful, you needed to be where things happen — in Berlin, Munich, London, or Lisbon. Or at least Nuremberg.
But my story turned out very differently.
The Moment I Chose a Different Path
A few years ago, I was at a point where my life was moving fast.
I worked long hours, built strategies for clients, and spent my days switching between deadlines, calls, and campaigns.
And yet, something was missing.
I realized I wanted space to think.
I wanted creativity instead of constant noise.
I wanted to build something that felt like mine — without the pressure of keeping up with big-city trends.
So I made a decision that surprised many people:
I moved my entire business to a small town in Bavaria, surrounded by forests, lakes, and — yes — cows 🐄.
Where Creativity Meets Simplicity
Today, I run my business from Neunburg vorm Wald, a historic town in Bavaria, Germany.
It’s quiet. It’s peaceful. And it’s nothing like the fast-paced cities most entrepreneurs call home.
Here, I opened my café inside medieval castle walls — the Burgfräulein Café.
It’s more than just a place for coffee.
It’s where ideas meet conversations, where entrepreneurs stop by, where we talk strategy over cappuccinos and brainstorm content plans on napkins.
And the irony?
Being in a small town didn’t limit my opportunities.
It expanded them.
Building a Global Business From a Small Town
I’ve learned that you don’t need a big city to think big.
Technology, AI, and social media make it possible to run global projects from almost anywhere.
I can spend mornings walking through quiet streets, and afternoons talking to clients from Berlin, Dubai, San Francisco, and Doha — all from my laptop.
It’s a balance I never thought was possible when I first started in this industry.
Why This Works for Me
Living here has changed the way I create, work, and connect:
More space, more clarity → No constant noise, more focus on what really matters
Meaningful connections → My café became a hub for entrepreneurs, creators, and curious minds
Global reach, local roots → I work internationally, but I’ve built a strong local network, too
It’s proof that you can build a global business even if you’re not in the “right” city.
Looking Ahead
Sometimes, we think success has a specific location.
But building my business here taught me something different:
Success isn’t about where you are.
It’s about how you work, who you connect with, and what you create.
And right here, between castle walls and coffee cups, I’ve found my balance — a place where big ideas grow, even in a small town.
